Hailing from the West Midlands, Humanstairs is the brain child of musicians Daniel John Marsden , Alex Voss and Jason Davidson. Upon the release of their single 'Greyhound' in 2018, the group began work on their debut EP 'nervous drinking / nervous everything'. Compiled of three tracks the group have set out to create an impact with this debut EP.
The self-confessed 'sad lads' are musicians in their own right with Daniel releasing his album 'The Art of Bonsai' early in 2018 and Alex continuously playing solo shows alongside ventures with the band, the former of the two being greeted with fantastic critical and general success, with the record which featured tracks like 'Dizzy Land Florida' and 'Halfway House'. Humanstairs find themselves situated in the emo genre, but come to the genre with maturity and experience, things which are sometimes lacking in other bands of the genre, and find a way to intertwine this with both their lyrical and musical composition.
Humanstairs took on the production themselves on this EP creating a serious of 'boppy sad songs' for their audience to enjoy, with them going as far as to record vocals in the front seat of car along Cannock Chase. This choice showcases their ability not only as musicians but as producers aswell, taking on the mammoth task that it is to record and mix their own music. After sending it off for mastering they are left with the final product.
Their EP is set for release on the 17th of May, with a series of shows to follow the release to help promote the record and music which has yet to be laid down. They released their single 'old endeavours' on May 3rd. Prepare yourself to get nervous and climb the Humanstairs when their EP releases this month.
